Hi, I'm Ferne! 🌿
I am a PhD student in the department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Toronto in the Wagner Lab.
My research focuses on how anthropogenic change influences the plant mating systems of Heliconia tortuosa, and how Heliconia tortuosa responds to that change. So many people underestimate plants, they are often thought to be passive, defenceless, and at the mercy of their environment. However, what we are finding seems to suggest the opposite. Plants can do more than what most people give them credit for.
